Creating a Space for Practice
Three days with Noga Barkai in Amsterdam
January 31-February 2, 2014

All practice sessions will be based on the four components of Vijnana Yoga: Just Sitting, Pranayama, Asana, and Text. It is possible to join Noga for one of the practice days or to register for the entire workshop.

Friday:

Today we will explore the principles of breath, relaxation, rooting and connecting in a 2½-hour workshop. We will practice just sitting and pranayama; asana with an emphasis on standing poses & forward bends; and reading a text from the Rig Veda.

Saturday:

Today's 4½-hour workshop delves into the consciousness of the sukshma sharira - the subtle body. Relying on the principles of Vijnana Yoga for precise and healthy organization and alignment of the body, we will connect to the body's subtle layers. We will practice just sitting and pranayama; asana with an emphasis on hand balancing & backbends; and reading an excerpt from the Taitreya Upanishad.

Sunday

A deep, intensive full-day practice of Vijnana Yoga. We will practice just sitting and pranayama; morning asana session with an emphasis on standing poses & hand balancing; afternoon asana session with an emphasis on backbends & inversions; and reading the first chapter of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
